Saturday 22 March (day 22)

We need to extend our visas for Sudan.  $150 for a US passport and $60 for European at the Nairobi Embassy only gets you one week holiday in Sudan.  In addition to having a valid visa you must pay the $65 registration fee.  Now we need to extend the visas.  Saturday isn't a work day so no chance to get to immigration today.  We lounge around the campsite and make an afternoon trip to the market and the internet café. In the evening we have some dinner with the Dutch guys, Carlo and Steven. Steven has been driving his bike for the last 5 months and Carlo for the last year. We had a nice chill evening where we did the cooking and they provided the beer (Heineken)! It is absolutely impossible and illegal to get a hold of any alcoholic drink, so these cold ones tasted divine. A moment of silence for the best Heineken (normally we don't even like Heineken). We played some cards till midnight before hitting the sack.
