Friday 21 March (day 21)

It takes the better part of the day to drive to Khartoum.  The road is very good tarmac with the occasional police check roadblock along the way.  Nothing nefarious just a look at our passports or the car registration and ask us where we are going.  We drive to the Blue Nile Sailing Club which the guidebook says is the only place to camp in Khartoum. As we are wandering around having a look at the Nile, Niels sees 2 guys with motorcycles with camp set up.  It turns out they are Dutch, of course since they wear zip-off pants, and are just preparing to move to another campsite which they have been told is better.  We decide to follow along and end up at the National Camping Residence about 10Km south of town.  We have a nice shady spot and the best shower we've had in a long time (even better than the one at home in Mombasa!!).
